Wandering Leopard Japan – Day 15 – Tokyo Wandering with Makoto-san

Tokyo wandering with Makoto-san

While I was in Shibuya the prior night, I got a message from Makoto-san asking what my plan was for tomorrow. I told him I was gonna just explore Tokyo. The places I was gonna go were: Odaiba, Nakano, Ikebukuro and Ginza. Makoto-san said he would contact me in the morning. The next day he said he was in Odaiba and so I went there to meet with him. Makoto-san and I have met up a few times in the past.

Odaiba

Makoto-san is a good friend and I was happy to see him. I went to Odaiba that morning taking the Yurikamome line. The ride over is pretty cool too.

We met at Daiba station and went to the Unicorn Gundam. While I did see this in 2019, I needed to see it this time to hit the trifecta on this trip.

Gundam Trifecta

We then went back to Shimbashi Station to head towards Nakano. But he showed me the Miyazaki’s Nittere-Ohdokei Giant Clock

Of course, it’s kinda hidden between huge skyscrapers!

Shibashi station

Makoto-san knew how to navigate the trains with ease. I probably wouldn’t have gotten to these places as fast as him because I always have to ask if I’m going to the right station and I always look at maps to see which direction I am at to exit.

Nakano Broadway

The prices here seem to be better then Akihabara. But when we arrived, many shops were closed for another 45mins. So we walked around until then. I was searching for certain Gachapon (RB26dett engine), but there wasn’t there.

Nakano Broadway is also like a Toy Museum as well. It’s a pretty cool place IMO.

Ikebukuro

Afterwards we went to Ikebukuro. My main goal here was to go to the Gachapon world. 3000 machines!!! Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I thought. Most of the gachapons were newer releases. I was looking for stuff from last year or 2 years ago.

Hibiya Park

I wanted to see the Shin Godzilla statue I saw in 2020 and since we were going to Ginza, we stopped by. Again, Makoto-san really knew which train AND EXIT.

Nissan Crossing

I stopped by Nissan Crossing back in 2020, but this time, I wanted to see when it was open and what car they had on display. It was a cool S30 432 R… sheesh!! I’ll make a post on that in a second.

This is when Makoto-san and I said our good byes! Thank you so much brother!!
