Wandering Leopard Japan – Day 14 – Kanazawa adventure

Kanazawa

When I go to Japan, I try to explore as much as possible. It has been getting harder and harder because of how spread out everyone is and each time, I make more friends to meet with. LOL.

I have been planning a day trip to Kanazawa, but the day I planned on doing it, my wife (and kids) extended their trip by another day. So I thought I wouldn’t make it to Kanazawa.

I had met with everyone I had planned to, so the final and extended days of the trip were for exploring. I work up early and packed up. This was my last day at the Shinjuku capsule hotel that I always use. But since I extended my trip, they didn’t have vacancy, so I had to book with thier Akihabara location. I asked if they could hold my luggage until the afternoon which they were ok doing so.

I got to Tokyo Station and got on the Shinkansen going to Kanazawa. 2.5 hr train ride. I had time, so I went to the JR ticket office and ask for the reserved seat.

One of the coolest things about this station is the architecture. I also wanted to see the local garden as I heard it was gorgeous. When I arrived, it was another massive station.

Walking towards Kenrokoen Garden is a 2.2 kilometer walk. Of course you’ll go through the famous Omichi Market.

Soon, you get to the far end of the park, but there is also Kanazawa Castle.

Then you will find Kenrokuen Garden not too far.

After that, I started to head back to Tokyo.
