Project Leopard April 2023 update

What’s been happening since December 2022:

  1. Currently going through the Wiring Specialties harness and finding out what goes where. Ordered sensors and plugs.
  2. Intercooler and IC piping done.
  3. Radiator mounted
  4. Turbo outlet mounted
  5. Oil relocation partial done
  6. Driveshaft and carrier bearing
  7. Syko Elbow modification
  8. Heater core hoses
  9. Power Steering
  10. Clutch line installed
  11. Boost Doc water outlet installed.
  12. Link ECU (GTRLink – NGTRX)
  13. NTK wideband system
  14. Starter (new starter) and bolts
  15. Oil catch can and radiator overflow (not installed)
  16. Transmission pieced together
  17. Belts
  18. Turbo elbow studs
  19. Turbo elbow/downpipe gaskets + Nubis Valve cover bolts
  20. IAT subharness and additional connectors
  21. Oxygen connector

Hung has been working on the wiring as of late. Everything I’ve been missing, he tells me to order. While I do have a Brand new RB25DET harness from Wiring Specialties, we are figuring out what M30 specific plugs are needed.

But I’ve had to order sensors.

RB air temp/water temp sensor and Coolant Temp sensor, Oil pressure switch and Air Intake Temp sensor

Intercooler and Piping by Thrice Engineering

Originally, SR20store snaked the piping behind the headlights for the magazine. Old intercooler and piping were thrown out by the SR20store (which I didn’t know), but the system needed to be redone anyway, so I bought a smaller intercooler and got a basic pipe kit. I also had to order a lot of couplers.

Radiator mounted.

Turbo Outlet mounted

Oil filter relocation

Taark’s x Greddy oil block put on, Oil filter relocation (custom mount made) and lines added.

I do have the other half and that will be installed soon.

Driveshaft and carrier bearing

Custom Driveshaft needed a carrier bearing replaced and we found out that the rear part of the driveshaft was missing (in Arizona). Luckily, there was a whole DS on Ebay. Hung Also changed out the carrier bearing

Syko Elbow modifications

Syko Elbow is set up to go around the M30’s steering shaft. The Tomei Turbo’s internal wastegate was hitting the inside of the Syko Elbow housing.

Syko Performance didn’t respond to my idea of having them look at the issue and maybe even modify it.

Heater core hoses installed

Power Steering

After I found out that my Power Steering pump was missing, I had to piece one together. That included the bracket, the pump itself, mounting hardware, adjustment bracket and screw and new high pressure line.

Slave cylinder and clutch line installed

Boost Doc Greddy intake manifold water outlet installed.

Link ECU, NTK Wideband and Starter have arrived

Starter

and hardware

Oil Catch Can and Coolant Overflow tank.

I originally had a Greddy Oil Catch can, but that disappeared at the SR20store

So I ordered a new one and Hung said it wouldn’t work

Coolant Overflow tank

In October of 2022, we realized the transmission was missing so many parts. I had to piece it all together.

Belts

Since I went with LS V8 alternator upgraded, I had to get a 4pk900 belt. I also ordered the PS and AC belts.

Super Belt 4PK900 Performance Serpentine Belt
Gates K030328 Micro-V Serpentine Drive Belt
Gates K040358 Micro-V Serpentine Drive Belt

Turbo outlet studs

I was surprised that both the Tomei Turbo kit and Syko Performance didn’t have the 5 studs needed. Hung pointed out what I needed. Luckily, Eric’s Performance Parts makes a set! ARP too!

Turbo elbow and down pipe gaskets + Nubis Valve cover bolts

IAT subharness and additional connectors
