I wasn’t planning on participating in shows this year… but… JAI, JCCS and Nissfest

There are few shows that I want to participate in.

For NorCal, Wek Fest is pretty cool. I haven’t participated because I was behind on a few things. I think next year is a goal.  But this year, I was planning on passing up the show circuit due to getting Project Leopard done and then refining Diplomat.

That all changed quickly! 1st my friend Jay messaged me about JCCS again… and that made me register.

Then…

Japanese Automotive Invitational

Last night, I got a message from Matt (who works at Motortrend) about Japanese Automotive invitational. We talked last year because I was asking about Miron’s Autech Stelvio. He said next year they might look for other cars… and well, he made good on contacting me!!!

Japanese Automotive Invitational is part of Monterey Car Week. It started with Infiniti showing off their cars, but they added other Japanese brands.

In 2018, their 1st event, because Nissan North America showcased their Black M30 Coupe. At the time, it was about trying to see Nissan’s museum M30s (they have a convertible down sout or east coast).

In 2019, Infiniti brought out the same coupe and to show support, I again went to the JAI and took pictures of it with my kids (don’t mind my son Jacob’s goofiness).

JAI 2022 was when I returned. I believe the previous years were cancelled due to the pandemic. While they didn’t bring out the M30 coupe again, Myron did show his Autech Stelvio and that was one of my F31 bucket list to see.

JCCS 2023

I was pressured into JCCS, lol.. It didn’t take much as it is my favorite event. I only care to represent. Unlike last year though, I am not going to do last minute stuff!!! Last year was HELL. JCCS will be held at the same place as last year, Marina, but also on October 7th.

With that said, I got a few stuff to update, but I was really wanting to wrap my car, unfortunately, my project car is in the finishing stages, so I can’t commit to wrapping right now. But I have a few goodies I need to add. BUT, I might slip Project Leopard in it’s place if it is done.

I wrote this last year:

“I never expect recognition. I mean if it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, then its no big deal to me. Whether people understand my build or not, is not for me to interpret. No one else will have a Diana kit on their M30 and even Zenki tail lights are a rarity (only a hand full of sets state side). Building my M30 to what I have always wanted (a VIP styled car) is my goal and it’s never done to get the “likes” or for clout. It’s always about me building my car properly within what the Japanese would consider their cars”.

So I am going in with the same mindset. It’s all about representing, even more so if my cousin Sid registers his Land Cruiser!

JCCS is held on October 7th this year.

Nissfest

While I have never been to Nissfest, I know it is the premier Nissan shows. I looked at when it was happening (October 8th) and figured it was the next day and mind as well enjoy SoCal for the weekend. LOL.

I hope by then both my cars are done and I can enter both.. but we shall see.

There are a couple other shows I want to enter, but I will see.
